Spicy Mango Margarita

Spicy Mango Margarita

Today I’m sharing with you my latest inspiration using frozen mango slices and Meyer lemons which now are in season. My inspiration came out of a traditional sweet and sour spicy combination reminding me of the Mexico flavors.  Jicamas, mango, pineapple and oranges with chile piquin, lemon and salt are a common snack, if you grew up in a Mexican family I’m sure your mouth is watering by now.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of frozen mango slices
  • 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed Meyer lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup of tequila blanco lemon infused
  • Salt
  • Hot sauce

Preparation time: 5 minutes. Makes 4-6 drinks. Approximate cost per person $4.00 depending on ingredients market price. You will need a blender and margarita glasses.

Combine all ingredients using the blender, until you get a frothy consistency. Serve in a nice margarita glass with a salted rim and decorate with a splash of spicy sauce.

This Cinco de Mayo or for any other celebratory occasion enjoy this spicy tart cocktail with your guests.

Please drink responsibly and do not drink and drive
