A spicy chilled raspberry soup, the perfect dish to start a meal while enjoying the bright and bold romance that berries and blood oranges evoke.
This soup is made with fresh raspberries and blood orange juice. Garnished with Greek yogurt ribbons, berries and finished with chamoy salt to provide that unexpected element of brightness and boldness to the dish. Chamoy salt is a savory condiment used in the Mexican cuisine and it is made with dried pickled fruit and chile piquín also called pequin.
Spicy Chilled Raspberry Soup
- 2 cups of fresh raspberries
- 2 blood oranges
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of chamoy salt
- 2 fresh strawberries
- 10 blackberries
- 10 raspberries
- In the blender add the raspberries, the juice of the blood oranges and the honey. Blend until all ingredients are combined together.
- Use a strainer to remove the raspberry seeds. This is important to get a velvety consistency.
- Serve the raspberry soup on a bowl season with the chamoy salt.
- Garnish with the yogurt and the fruits.
- Serve chilled.
In my Mexican culture we always find ways to incorporate an element of surprise or to add brightness to anything we do. Living a colorful life and adding spice is what we enjoy the most and you can see that on the way that we dress, our crafts, the music and also our food.
We are passionate and love everything that is happy and that smells good like the Glade® Radiant Berries™ candles, with hints of berries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and yumberries.
This recipe for the spicy chilled raspberry soup is inspired in the aromas of the berries and the red and pink color hues that the Glade® Radiant Berries™ candles have. This time of the year is perfect to bring berries and citrus to our table as they are in season. Eating in a colorful way it is also a good way to provide variety in the menu we offer to those we love.
The color red is bright, vivid and beautiful. You can make amazing dishes with berries and citrus, and let’’s face it-who doesn’t like the tart and sweet flavors of fresh raspberries combined with the sweetness of a blood orange and the lusciousness of creamy Greek yogurt.
The red and pink colors evoke romance, brightness and boldness, the perfect combination that I have used to create this well balanced soup. When you taste it you will understand this, since with every spoon you will feel these sensations.
I invite you to try my recipe for your next romantic dinner for two. Set the mood with a nice tablescape, fresh flowers and light one of the Glade® Radiant Berries™ candles. Then, Feel Bright. Feel Glade®.
