Last October 24 was honored with a special invite to one of the most important Latino Bloggers conferences in the United States LATISM’12. But you might be wondering what is LATISM, those letters stand for Latinos In Tech Innovation and Social Media (LATISM), a 501(c) 4 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing the social, civic and economic status of the Latino community and founded by Ana Roca, a Latina leader and role model.
The conference was held in Houston at the Hyatt Regency with an array of panelists and speakers from activists to inspirational to business and technology. This conference was a great learning experience, giving many chances to connect with fellow bloggers, speakers and sponsors.
The organization was amazing along with the food and all entertainment offered but the most important thing was to provide awareness that we Latinos need to serve our community and act as ambassadors for LATISM in our own cities bringing and identifying opportunities to better our communities in education, health, technology and business.
Special thanks to Southwest Airlines without their help I wouldn’t be able to attend this incredible event, great service on departure and arrival, impressed that they actually serve snacks and their personnel is cheerful and super friendly. I was certainly treated like royalty. Follow them on Twitter at @SouthwestAir hashtag #SWAVamonos or at their Spanish site http://espanol.southwest.com/.
