Mexican cuisine has a vast variety of salsas and one of them is the famous chipotle salsa. Mostly used for Tacos Arabes but also offered in many taquerias as a garnish and used to marinade chicken and for pork stews. This chipotle salsa is versatile and can be used for almost anything. The original chipotle salsa recipe requires dried chipotle peppers of two kinds but since I cannot find those in my local market I am using canned chipotles in adobo. This canned chipotles are smoky and very flavorful. Nothing more simple than to use an ingredient that is ready to be enjoyed.
The chipotle salsa recipe I am bringing today is very simple and has few ingredients. It is ready in less than 10 minutes and stays fresh inside the fridge for over a week when kept in a sealed container or a mason jar with a secure cap. You just need canned chipotles in adobo, Mexican oregano, apple cider vinegar, garlic cloves, sea salt and a small portion of water. To achieve the velvety consistency nothing like using a professional blender like Vitamix. But you can use a conventional blender if desired.
