This recipe for the Michelada Cocktail is part of a sponsored campaign with TABASCO®. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
The Michelada cocktail is very popular in Mexico. The name Michelada is equal to say “My Beer, My Way”. This beer cocktail has a lot of personality and is made in many different ways. Because at the end a Michelada is alwasy made to meet your personal taste buds. And everyone has their own version.
There is people that likes it with tomato juice and lime, others that just want it with lime juice and salt and others like me, that enjoy it with few drops of Worcestershire sauce, freshly squeezed lime juice, chamoy and lots of TABASCO® original red sauce.
- 2 iced cold beers either lager or amber
- 1 cup of ice
- 1/2 cup of lime juice
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon of TABASCO® original red sauce
- 1 tablespoon of chamoy in powder
- 1/2 of a lime
Using half of a lime wet the rim of the glass and then dust with the chamoy powder
Add ice to two tall glasses, then add equal parts of lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, TABASCO® original red sauce.
Finally pour the beer of yoru choice and enjoy!
You can prepare the Michelada with either lager or amber beers. Both go great with the added ingredients and are very refreshing. A Michelada cocktail never fails hen the wether is hot and you are in party mode or organizing a taquiza at home. This cocktail is perfect pairing for tacos too.
In Mexico a Michelada cokctail nevers fails to be part of the menu. But now with my recipe you can make your own Michelada Cocktail at home. The trick to achieve a tasty Michelada is to use freshly squeezed lime juice and the beer must be cold as ice.
Using TABASCO® for the Michelada it is a tradition among many bar tenders and cocktail crafters. So when making your own michelada at home do not forget this important ingredient that not only adds another dimension of flavor but a nice spicy kick.
Many people like using TABASCO® as a condiment, but it’s a great ingredient that adds much flavor to my recipes. I alwasy have it handy for many of the dishes I make. Not only the Michelada cocktail but TABASCO® sauces are great for marinades and also for adding a kick to pasta sauces. Like my Chipotle Spaghetti and Meatballs recipe so good!
