Taverna Opa 5th Anniversary

Tomato Appetizer with Feta Cheese, Fresh Cucumbers and Black Olives

I was honored with an invitation to participate in the Taverna Opa Orlando 5th anniversary party held  last October 4 at their location in International drive in the heart of Orlando; very happy to be there enjoying and celebrating this milestone with other guests and the restaurant owners who are a very nice Greek family.

Taverna Opa Orlando is a Mediterranean restaurant offering fresh and authentic Greek cuisine using local and imported ingredients and a true immersion into the Greek culture and traditions via their food offerings, wines, music and live entertainment.

The anniversary celebration was one of a kind, I enjoyed very much the concept of a culinary trip to Greece so all guests including myself received a passport to present in each of the food stations offering bites and pairings with Greek wines from Metaxa to Boutari and of course Greece’s national beverage Ouzo.

Some of the sampling I enjoyed included:

MOSCHOFILERO, BOUTARI crisp white wine paired with my favorite Chicken Kebob all natural, marinated chicken with vegetables and fresh herbs.

KRETIKOS BOUTARI WHITE very refreshing and served with Spanakopita, phyllo dough stuffed with spinach, feta cheese and spices.

TSELEPOS ESTATE, CHARDONNAY smooth white wine paired with sautéed shrimp on a tomato garlic dill sauce.

TSELEPOS ESTATE BLEND CAB & MERLOT a mellow red served with; Lamb Chops, marinated in fresh herbs and garlic.

To close the night something sweet chilled METAXA GRANDE FINE with a bite of Galaktoboureko a dessert made with custard, honey and cinnamon.
