Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad
Any special occasion deserves a Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad served with fresh basil, olive oil and delectable spices. I learned about burrata on my latest travels to California where I have enjoyed the true farm to table experience in restaurants like Redd Wood located in the Napa valley area and where the chef served us a special dish with burrata and tomatoes.
- 1 fresh burrata cheese
- 1 kumato tomato
- 1 yellow tomato
- 8 cherry tomatoes
- 1 bunch of fresh basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of kalamata and green olive tapenade
- Cracked pepper to taste
Clean the produce and slice the tomatoes in rounds.
Place the tomato slices in a nice serving plate and garnish with the basil leaves
Add the burrata cheese in the middle, garnish with a floret of basil leaves
Dress with the tapenade, drizzle the olive oil and sprinkle fresh ground pepper
Enjoy immediately and pair with crusty bread
