Grilled Shrimp Tacos
Grilled Shrimp Tacos

Summer is all about grilling and tacos in my house, and since we love shrimps I decided to make grilled shrimp tacos to celebrate together as a family. Besides who doesn’t like to be part of a taquiza. With yummy options, many hot tortillitas and special sauces. And of course in my parties TABASCO® is a must have to add an additional kick to my tacos and all my dishes including some special libations like micheladas, yummy!

For this grilled shrimp tacos recipe I am using medium size shrimps inserted into kabobs for easy grilling. The shrimps are seasoned with sazon latino, a combination of cumin salt and pepper and adding some hot pepper. The tacos are garnished with pico de gallo and avocado slices. Finished with lime drops and TABASCO sauce.

I also found al my local store small corn tortillas perfect for tacos. These tortillas are very common in my country and here in the US are called tortillas for street tacos. Small tortillas make it easy to grab the taco and then you don’t feel guilty eating more than two.

We Mexicans love tacos, we basically eat tacos made of almost anything. I remember when I was a child and my mother would send me to la tortilleria to buy fresh tortillas I would eat one on my way home just with a pinch of salt and rolled like a taquito. Nobody can resist a freshly made tortilla, they are warm and when you bite into the taquito you can feel the softness of the corn masa, so good.

In Mexico when you say “taquiza” is the meaning of party. We love to get together and prepare delicious foods and guisados for making tacos. We have several types of tacos. Like “tacos de canasta” those are stuffed with guisados, refried beans and or vegetables,. We also make tacos dorados, stuffed with chicken or beef and fired and then served with a spicy lime slaw.

Our tacos al pastor are famous, made with a shawarma technique. Yes, pastor tacos were influenced by the Arab community that established in Mexico many years ago. That is when pastor tacos appeared and now are one of the most beloved street tacos in Mexico City.

And of course grilling is also a Mexican tradition that I embrace and making tacos with grilled meats is one of my favorite things. That is why I invite you to try my latest recipe for grilled shrimp tacos.
